The Coral Collective officially launched on September 12 and will run through 2030. Our mission is to immerse coral into culture to drive funding and awareness to help save coral reefs from extinction. Join us by following us on social media, making a donation, buying art or merchandise, attending events and spreading the word through your networks on social media. Let’s be the generation that saves coral reefs from functional extinction. Because we all thrive with coral.
Bringing coral into culture
Led by Project Zero, The Coral Collective aims to support the work of the G20’s Coral Research and Development Accelerator Platform (CORDAP), the Global Fund for Coral Reefs (GFCR), and the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI).
At the present, the alarming calls from marine scientists often remain in the echo-chambers of the biodiversity world. And although the loss of coral reefs would potentially be the first functional climate extinction in our lifetime, action to save coral reefs is still treated as a niche issue. The Coral Collective’s mission is to break through the echo chambers, accelerate awareness, and motivate global public and private action for coral reefs that aligns with scientifically determined targets that will help to save this Earth-first ecosystem.
